Jami Wood

In 2006 I took a four-week, fused glass class to learn the basics. After taking the class, I had a whole new perspective of what you could do in a kiln with glass and was instantly inspired! From that point on it didn’t take me long to get a studio together, so I could begin creating glass art. I became passionate about creating pieces of glass that would eventually be appreciated by others. Every time I open the kiln after a fire process, it’s like Christmas morning!

I’m a local artist and have lived near the Gulf Coast beaches for over 30 years. I set up at Art Shows and local fresh markets. I love creating unique custom pieces upon request – if you have a vision in your head, I can help you bring it to life! Below, I’d like to introduce you to some of my best assistants whom I wouldn’t be able to create without. I hope to see you soon and thanks for appreciating my art!

BODHI

I adopted Bodhi when he was 3 ½ years old, his former owner had lost their job and could no longer care for him – so of course he had to come home with me. He just loves to be with me while I work and most of the time tries to lay right in the middle of it! How he never cuts himself amazes me; I just don’t worry about it anymore. He’s now 13 years old and gets insulin shots twice a day and doing great

She is a cat who loves high places. I’ve always said if she could walk on the ceiling she would. Emma will jump between finished glass pieces high up on a shelf and never break anything – I just let her do her own thing and it all works out fine.

She is my street cat, who wandered into the yard about a year ago. We tried to find her a forever home, three different times and each one fell through, so it was evident she was meant to be ours. She is youngest out of the cats and absolutely loves to play with her catnip mice. At the time she came into my life, I was binge watching Schitt’s Creek so hence her name.

She is the thief of the house. If she likes something I’m working on and I turn my back she will run with it in her mouth! Izzy and Bodhi battle it out daily to see who gets the sunny spot at my desk, it’s the best place to watch their squirrel friends!

Finn is a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound rescue and the biggest baby of the house. When he isn’t standing in front of me while trying to load the kiln, he loves to chase his tennis balls and go anywhere my daughter takes him! You can always follow his adventures on his own Instagram page @followingfinnegan
